I was so saddened to hear of Susan's passing. She was/is an inspiration to me and has helped me in so many ways. I was first introduced to Susan with her book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. I was saying to a friend "if I could only get over my fears" and she said "you don't have to" and gave me Susan's book. I especially liked the e-mail inspirations that she would send. I am so glad you will continue them. It just seemed whenever I would be down or feel weak, one would come in and save the day. Thank you so much for carrying on Susan's message, she will truly be missed!!!!

When I read the message about Susan's passing, it made me very sad. I really don't even remember how I came to know about her and her work, but I do remember that I immediately want out and purchased her book 'Feel the Fear'. Her newsletters have been so inspiring. Her wonderful ability to share of herself so openly has touched more lives than she will ever know. I look forward to her message being continued.

What a remarkable person who in the present world of negativity, full of stress and strain and life's up's and down's, she was like a shining light in the darkness who inspired me with her positivity to keep going in life.
May she rest in peace and I will miss her gentle but inspiring words.

I am immensely sad that Susan has lost her battle with cancer. RIP Susan, gone but never ever forgotten. I read and reread her book Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway! until her wisdom in the ways to embrace fear and not allow it to win, sunk in and I forged a new life ahead, with her book guiding me I won my battle with the crippling fear pervading everything I tried to do.

God be with you my friend and thank you for all your support.

'Feel the fear and do it anyway' cd's were given to me at a point of my life when i felt i wasn't strong enough to get through the next day following years of domestic violence. Susans words, strategies and guidance gave me the strength and ability to leave my partner at the time and not go back and to move forward with my life. I will never forget Susan for what she has done for me and i pray for her family at this sad time, may she rest in peace, gone but never forgoten. God Bless and Thank you xx

Susan's Books, End the Struggle and Dance with Life and Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway have helped me with so many difficult periods of my life. The first time was when I was struggling being a stepmother and not sure whether I could stay in my marriage and the another significant time was when I felt very unvalued by certain employers (doctors) which undermined my self confidence and self esteem.
I made a small notebook of important sayings of Susan's and kept it by my bed to read and reinforc my self esteem before I went to bed. I would drive to work repeating " I am enough", Whatever life sends me I can handle it, Act as if I am a valued employee ...
Susan's influence has helped my in my life at least for 25 years (and I have been married 30 years!) and I am greatly saddened that her life ended too soon but thankful for her wonderful gift of wisdom that will live on. My deep condolences to her family for your loss.

I only read one of her books, Feel the Fear..., but she made made a huge change in my life. That was 25 years ago. When I saw the obituary in today's NY Times I cried as though I knew her. What I realize is she 'knew me' and and taught me how to take two steps into the dark. I had to google and find this place where I can share my grief and offer blessings to her family. I first read Susan Jeffers following a recommendation from my Mum. At the time I was studying for an English Literature degree and ended up doing my dissertation on self-help literature, rather unusually.

Looking back, I would perhaps guess that this is because of the impact Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway had on me, and continues to until this very day.

The way she wrote her books was with such honesty, humour and with her feet planted firmly on the ground that they are wonderfully accessible to everyone, from every walk of life. An amazing talent for writing and an amazing capacity for caring that will be missed on this earth.

My thoughts are with her family who were lucky enough to have someone so special in their lives every day.

Susan, will you ever know the impact your wise words have in helping me learn a new way to think? I have read numerous books about anxiety. I have sat through many, many sessions of counseling trying to break the grasp that anxiety has on my life. When I finally read your book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway , I felt something change. I have a long way to go, but at least I feel certain that I am going to beat this someday. You have given me HOPE. Thank you, thank you.
May your family and loved ones find some comfort in knowing how much you have inspired others who suffer from fear and anxiety.

I was very sad to hear of Susan's death. I first read 'Feel the Fear' about 17 years ago and it had a profound affect on my attitude towards risk and opportunities and how I parented my daughter. I stopped saying ' Be careful darling' and started saying ' take a risk'. I love the fact that Susan understood things from a human and spiritual perspective. Since first reading the book I have bought many copies of 'Feel the Fear' that I have passed onto friends and colleagues. Susan, you will be missed - but you leave a great legacy. With love x

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Susan's death, listening to her CD Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life recently. I have learned skills that I will take through to the rest of my life and it was Susan's honesty and lovely personal approach in her narration which made me believe that if she could cope with the trials that life sends us, that I could too. Listening to her everyday in the car for months is like always having a friend on the journey with me; I talk to her as if she is sitting next to me, laughing crying, screaming whatever it is that I need to do to release the negative feelings and heal myself. Affirmations have been my real life saver and Susan introduced me to the Higher Self and Universal Energy; these have been a true revelation and source of comfort to me. Listening to Susan gave me the strength and confidence to continue with my dream and start a new business; where I am evangelical in recommending that everyone I know listens to her CDs. I have also enjoyed the Inner Confidence self esteem affirmations CD and I will continue working my way through her other publications and audios. I only properly learned about Susan's amazing work and outlook on life this year; her loss will be deeply felt by me and people all over the world I am sure. I want to send my sincere condolences to all of Susan's family, friends, colleagues and her devotees everywhere. Thank you so much Susan Jeffers, your legacy will live on forever xxx

I first read one of Susan's books about eight years ago, when I was severely depressed and going through a difficult divorce. It was reading the book and thinking about all her ideas that got me out of my depression. I sent her an email and she sent me a lovely one in reply. I have read several of her books since and am currently rereading 'Embracing Uncertainty'. Her insights and her positive approach to all life were truly inspiring. Thanks for everything, Susan. When I first opened Susans book 'Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway', many years ago, I knew I had discovered something so very precious. Susan touched my heart then, and has touched the hearts of so many I have shared her book with. Susan inspired millions with her open, joyful honesty and deep understanding of how to approach life with its 'light and often dark side', bringing a sense of renewed energy and clarity with every wonderful word she wrote. Her affirmations are written in a journal I keep by my bed and dip in and out of daily-thank you so much. I am now travelling my path having been diagnosed in June with breast cancer. I am half way through my chemotherapy treatment. On the 25th October Susans email arrived the title Practicing Daily Gratitude. It couldnt have arrived at a time when I needed it the most. Every day despite how I feel, I say 'thank you' for the cancer that has led me to setting up a foundation full of hope for fellow women walking my journey. I say thank you for the days I can get up and walk in nature with all its healing wonder.

I feel like I have lost a friend, although I never met Susan.

A true friend - i.e. one who tells you what you might not want to hear, challenges you to face your fears and empowers you to do so. Who cares about you just because you are you.

I am still reading your books Susan, they bolster me when I need additional courage.

I can't imagine a time when I won't read them.

My love and fondest wishes to Susan's family xxx

Susan's book Feel The Fear was one of the first self-help books I read over 20 years ago. I also purchased her tapes and would listen to them daily allowing the spiritual truths to permeate my being. "I can handle it" became my mantra as I went back to school and became a licensed clinical social worker. I now use so many of her words of wisdom with my own clients. May I send my condolences to Susan's family - she was clearly a very caring person. I have recently read 'Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway' - and I can honestly say that I wished I had read it long ago as it continues daily to give me the strength to move forward. I feel I found you and all too soon you are gone - but you will live on through your books.

I came across Feel the Fear when my marriage of 20 years came to an end. I eventually met a wonderful man who was my soul mate we had 11 very happy years to together and sadly he died. What we had together was so special and if it hed not been for reading two of Susan,s books I might never have had the confidence to go out and would never have met my lovely husband I would have missed out on so much happiness. RIP Susan Thank you so much. Regards to your family for thier great loss.

I have turned to Susan's words many times when feeling low, uncertain or anxious and they have always lifted my spirits and helped me to move forward. I have also recommended her books to friends and know that they also have been helped.
Though this will of course be a sad time for Susan's family and friends, hopefully they will be comforted knowing she has touched many lives and will go on doing so, as we continue to share her wisdom and love.

Susan's inspirational books helped change my life from one of depression caused by fear of rejection, judgement and self loathing to one of self acceptance, love and courage knowing what ever happens in my life I will handle it, learn from it and make it my triumph.
I am now a trained counsellor helping others improve their lives just as Susan played a part in changing mine.
Susan, words can not truly express the light you have brought into my life but as I believe we are all connected I hope you can feel the joy you have brought into my heart. May you rest in peace but may your words, your work and the way you lived your life live on forever.
To Susan's family and friends may I please offer my condolences and I truly hope that you find peace in knowing her legacy will live on. She was an inspiration to us all in how to live our lives.

I've been getting susan's newsletter for a little over a year and always looked forward to reading her thoughts and exposing myself to her contagious optimism. When I was greeted early in the morning this past week with the very sad news I must say that it shocked me and I couldn't help but go over some of the wonderful things I'd learned from her. I am SO grateful to her, especially for something that I carry with me every day which has changed my entire attitude and outlook about fear and it is her celebrated "feel the fear and do it anyway"...so simple yet so full of enlightenment. I thank you from the bottom of my heart Susan and wherever God may keep you, may he still allow us your warmth and inspiration through new venues now. Thank you and may your spirit live on in each one of us!

So sorry to hear about Susan RIP to a wonderful lady. I first came across Fear The Fear and do it anyway, about eighteen months ago when my husband bought it for me. I read it and listened to it several times and also have read, Feel The Fear and Beyond ,End The Struggle and Dance With Life and The Little book of Confidence.. I can honestly say it changed the way I had be thinking for a least part of my life being 45 years old now. I have realised the important messages in Susan's books and I have since gone 'out there' and embarked on a vocational course in something I've always loved but never quiet seemed to find the time ' ill do it when etc' needless to say that it never happened and i always felt held back somehow. Thank you Susan the fear was worse than the actually doing. When I enrolled on my studies the fear went it changed to excitement and I'm thoroughly enjoying my journey . I had only recently received one of your emails and I said to my husband this woman has changed my life I must write and let her know. X Forever grateful Liz

I first came to know of Susan Jeffers through my sister who is also named Susan. That was in 2004. I was in a great turmoil then in my relationship with my husband who is a controlling manipulative type. Back in 2000, he cheated on me. Four years later, he still has the guts to dissuade me from joining family affairs (my side). It was then that my sister handed me her copy of Jeffers' book “End the Struggle and Dance with Life.” “Read it, you’d learn from it," she said. Loved every page of it. Gave me strength. Gave me a new perspective of life and relationships. What really impressed on me was Jeffers' insights on "letting things happen perfectly," "trusting the future," and "trusting the grand design.“
From then on, every time I am down, I reach for the book and re-read.
In 2006, I bought “Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway.” It taught me to pursue my goals fearlessly. Then in 2007, I became an avid follower and subscribed to her website. Every month, I get to read her thoughts.
Sad that she is gone. But am happy that I got to know her through her writings.
Thank you, Susan.

Its shocking that Susan has left us.
She was having a spiritual unnamed thing which enabled her to see those areas of life where common people do not find anything to consider.

She had a great sense of understanding and feelings towards growth of human minds.

She was an achiever and she has achieved her destiny and rest on her followers to continue her objectives.

Thanks.

Susan helped me in many dark moments. I had particularly good use of Opening our hearts to men (am celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary in June), End the struggle and dance with life, as well as the Feel the fear books. Her open, warm and supportive tone was - and is in everything she has written - a wonderful support to making positive changes in my life. I also had good use of Susan's affirmations and internet-based resources. I am very sorry she is physically gone but her legacy lives on through everything she has given us. I wish to express my gratitude to Susan for opening my eyes or rather my mind to the idea that I always have a choice. This 'simple' concept had a profound influence on changing my consciousness and for starting to take responsibility for my choices and my life. Thank you Susan and rest in peace!

I am really sad to hear about Susan's passing. I purchased her book Feel the fear and do it anyway in 1988 when I was a young woman about to birth her first child. From the moment i saw the title I knew I had to read this book and I was not disappointed. It helped me to stay anchored at a very difficult time in my life.

Susan has left behind an amazing legacy.

Thank you for sharing her with us all.

My respect and sympathy to all Susan's family and close friends and colleagues.

Susan's "Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway" audio book helped me get through many hurdles in my life. As a young man, working my way through college, I accepted a job with the phone company to support myself and pay for tuition. The job involved climbing telephone poles using "spikes" or "gaffs" strapped to my boots. Since I've always had a fear of heights, I was terrified, but really needed the job. During pole-climbing training, the goal was to climb a 25-foot pole using spikes. Before class, I remember sitting in my car listening to Susan's soft and encouraging voice that "it's ok to be fearful...do it anyway." Susan's voice echoed through my head throughout the pole climbing class and helped me keep my job. I remember there was another young man who was strong and muscular. From all outward appearances, he was someone who you wouldn't believe was afraid of anything. To my surprise he shared with me that he was also afraid of heights and falling. We became great friends and would sit in my car on our breaks and listen to Susan's reassuring voice.
I have since retired from the phone company and am now a college professor. After retiring, I returned back to school to get a PhD in Leadership. I now feel priviledged to instruct and stimulate young minds at the university level. Susan's voice lives through me as I inspire young men and women to "Feel the fear and do it anyway." Thank you Susan!

I went through a very difficult time with fear and anxiety 25+ years ago. I bought Ms. Jeffer's book - Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway - and it changed my life. Her book gave me the strength and courage to fight through that difficult time and I have carried that book with me and continue to reference it for over 25 years. I have many of Ms. Jeffer's books and tapes. She has taught me many valuable things. Ms. Jeffers work is a wonderful gift to us all and I am so grateful to have been able to (and continue to) benefit from her work. I was very sad to hear of Ms. Jeffers passing - she will be missed. With much gratitude and love.

I was so sad to hear, I didn't know Susan was even ill...Her book "feel the fear and do it anyway" changed my best friend's life. Her name was Lori. Lori was depressed for the first time in her life, felt was out of vocational options in 1995 until she was given this book as a gift. It was life-changing! She felt she had a new way of looking at life... of course I had to read it, and it was what I also needed but was "afraid" to admit. Susan Jeffers helped so many people live their life better. She will be missed, saddened and feel blessed she was in our lives, Colleen

It is with sadness that I read of Susan’s passing.
To the world, Susan has left behind a huge legacy through her work.
Susan’s book “Feel the fear and do it anyway!” had a huge encouraging influence on me during the early stages of my journey into self awareness, it still does. In fact only 2 days ago I took it down off the shelf to re-read it as I am stepping out into a new venture and needed some encouragement!
Susan’s work with affirmations has been a great influence on me, especially in the early days when I was rewiring many of my outdated thought patterns. I still use affirmations every morning on starting my day and the screensaver comes up on my computer reminding me of all it is I need to know at any given moment.
I will always remember Susan with grace and gratitude.
Thank you…my sincere condolences and heartfelt blessings to all her family and friends.

The advices were so good that they helped me changing my life and the way I used to see the world!
Thanks Susan for all you work, we are sure God has a special plan for you.

When things were really tough in my life and I could not see my way ahead I discovered Susan Jeffers and her books and CD's. I came up from a very dark place to a place of light, peace and joy.

I have read and re read her books, put her CD's on my mpe player and taken her with me wherever I go.

She made a change in my life!! For that I thank here and may the peace and joy of spiritual life be and extra blessing for all the other lives she has touched>

I first received Susan's book 'feel the fear and do it anyway' in the 1980s and that booked changed the life of a very shy, reserved, unassertive, unconfident young woman who went onto achieve great things with her life - one of which was going to university as a mature student and getting a degree in business studies. Thank you Susan. I will always remember you with deep fondness. May your soul rest in peach and your legacy live on through the variious tools you have left behind for more people like me to change from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. Gratefully yours, Brenda. xxx

The first book honestly saved my life. I have most of her books, and The Little Book Of Confidence lives in my handbag, and Susan Jeffers will always live on in my heart. When I was realllllllly very low and close to the edge, I was perusing the spirituality/self help section, hoping to absorb some through osmosis.... And her book grabbed me. Well I'm not really sure who grabbed who, but I never pay retail, I use booktopia/ebay, and I bought this book, and oh how it resonated me with me.

M husband just walked past and asked why I was in tears, and I explained to him that Susan had been a BIG part of my life.

Her books have taught me SOOO much about life.

RIP Susan Jeffers - You gave me some of the greatest gifts you will never know x

I met Susan four years ago through a cassette recording of feel the fear and do it anyway which was given to me by my priest. I was going through tremendous trauma due to a failed relationship. Before that i tried everything: phsycologists, all sorts of prescription drugs - nothing help. When i got in my car and played the cassette, i could not stop listening to that beautiful, soothing, calming voice of susan. I played it over and over again! I was completely hooked and mesmerized and from that day on my life was never the same again! When i went to my local bookstore i bought my own copy and found end the struggle and dance with life. What a gift! I have now started to buy the books and cassettes as gifts to family and friends. And they all love it. The monthly newsletters that i receive is also so much appreciated and treasured. I was therefore so devastated when i opened my mail yesterday to receive the shocking news of susans passing. I would like to join others in sending my sincere condolences to susans family and friends. RIP dear susan.

I am so sorry that we lost Susan, my wish was that one day I could meet her in person and tell her that her books saved my life and as the result my family's life too. One of the best thing that happen in my life was that I saw her book ( Feel the fear and do it any way) by accident in the library and since then I became a new person . I gave her book as a gift to my son and my daughter for their 16th birthday and I knew that this is the book that they will need for the rest of their life.I also gave her book to so many of my friends for their birthday too. I wish I could meet you Susan and tell you that how much I love you and you are such a special and loving person.
