It was one evening that I was so sad and desperate... things with husband and generally my life was not going well that I got into a book shop close to leicester square and I bought the book feel the< fear and do it anyway> and I read it day by day and feeling better and better and a big hope that nothing to be afraid! It is a book that always I keep close.
She has inspired my sister too and we always talk about her book...
I found about this sad news through my sister's facebook and although I haven't seen her, I could not stop crying.... Dear Susan may you Rest In peace and thank you from the bottom of my heart to you who beautifully touched my heart and guided me.

I'm so saddened to hear of Susan's death. Her books are so inspiring that I return to them again and again. I particularly like her guide to relationships, her acceptance of uncertainty as a fact of life, her encouragement of affirmations. Most of all I love her warmth, her indomitable spirit, her belief in human potential. Her energy is infectious. Thank you Susan. You deserve our eternal gratitude.

I am so sorry to hear of such a great person leaving us. I am eternally grateful to Susan for changing my life! "Feel the Fear and do it anyway" has turned my life around and helped me at such a bad time in my life. Where I felt there was nothing and no one left to help me. I'm deeply saddened by the passing of such a wonderful woman. You brought sunshine into a lot of peoples lives with your books and audio tapes my life was just one of the millions of people you have helped over the years. I still read your books Feel the Fear and do it anyway (which has been underlined and highlighted in so many different places) and End the struggle and Dance with life, both books are very powerful and have helped me in so many different ways. I shall treasure these two books more now.The help and advice you gave to your readers and listeners was definitely second to none. Goodbye dear friend, may you rest in peace. My sincerest condolences go to Mark, family and friends at this very sad time

Susans book - Feel the Fear, lifted me from abject despair to soaring like an eagle, her legacy lives on in our hearts and lives - indeed in the fruits of our lives if we heed her words (about contribution) ''....To know that you can make a difference in this world means that you are not helpless, you are a meaningful force in the world.....'' Wow .... God bless - and to family and friends ...you cannot comprehend how many of us are thinking of you with love this very minute.

I was very lucky to be given a book via a friend 'Feal the Fear and Do it Anyway' while in a controlling, manipulative marriage of 26 years. Reading this book gave me clarity, I identified with so many examples and found the courage to finally face my ex-husband with confidence and end an unhappy marriage. My life has changed for the better, happy, single, free and finding who I am for the first time in years ;) Thank you Susan for assisting me x may you rest in peace and knowledge that you are fondly loved, deeply respected and admired for all the goodness you gave and shared with people on Earth x this is not the end ... just the begining - as you live on via your teachings xxx

Susan made a difference in my life while I was going through a very painful time several years ago. A friend gave me "Feel the Fear, and Do It Anyway." After reading the book several times, I gained the strength to move forward with my life.
I continued to read her many books after that and even was fortunate enough to see her in person about eight years ago.
When I heard of her passing last evening, I felt such a loss on a personal level that I shed many tears and only then understood how much she and her writings have meant to me through the years.

It was very sad news to hear of the passing away of this Great Lady.

My condolences to all hear family.

Does any biography / auto biography of her life exist?

Since casually purchasing my first paperback copy of “Feel the fear and do it anyway” at Melbourne airport on 30 November 1996, while waiting for a plane, I discovered that the book had much inspirational value and have since read it several times.

I found its unique and practical style aligned with me perfectly and I have found it a great source of reference.

The audio CD was beautifully read by Susan.

A hard copy of “Feel the Fear and do it anyway” will always occupy a permanent position on the top shelf of my bookcase with the other great books I have collected.

Susan was my earliest mentor when I was trying to write my first book. There probably would not have been a book if not for her support and encouragement and those reassuring phone calls. Susan Jeffers was one of the most gracious people I have ever met.

Her influence on me has been profound, even though we have not had direct contact in quite a few years. I clearly remember when I met Susan and Mark at The Ranch about 20 years ago. And my visit with them in New Mexico.

Mark, you and your family are in my heart and on my mind. I, too, feel this loss profoundly.

I was shocked beyond words to hear that Susan passed away. When I shared the news with my daughter as "my guru of philosophy is no more", I was choked with emotions. Susan is the one who taught me "I will handle it" and paved way for my ability to deal with any situation in life. I feel Susan is a messiah, who trod on to the earth to rid people of fear and to show the way to live life to the fullest. Susan lives for eternity-in the hearts, thoughts and actions of people. Susan touched the lives of so many millions that at any given time, someone somewhere in this world must be living her philosophy and thinking of her. Susan is a rare soul and my heartfelt condolences to the family of Susan.

When I saw the email about her memorial I had an immediate SINKING feeling. Almost like I wanted to reach out my arm and grasp her by the hand to bring her back. I didn't want to believe it. We just don't want to accept some of life's finalities. But, with everything I've learned from her, through her books and website, I do feel that she was well prepared and has left many of us with the tools of her wisdom to make our own lives happier and more content.
I truly am saddened by her passing. I will take the "tools" she gave me to fill in the spaces of my life that do the most good.

As heaven's gate opens - I can hear, "Well done good and faithful servant!"

May Susan's family, dearest friends and those she touched; find peace and comfort in the words she leaves behind.

Susan's compassion, faith and understanding remain paramount in our hearts and her legacy will continue as a beacon of hope.

I often forward Susan's gift of "Embracing Uncertainty" to parents' of children with serious illness. I was very blessed to read this book as I began the uncertain journey with my very ill son.

Some people go through their entire lives without ever having that "One" moment when they can say, "I get it!"; "I got this!" & "I'll handle it!" That is exactly what Susan Jeffers gave to me.
The book , "Feel the Fear and Do Anyway" was recommended to me just under a year ago, and I have since made many positive changes in my life. For me, that book was the 'Gateway Book...lol" It has opened so many doors for me.. I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel for this beautiful woman.

I was very sorry to hear of Susan's passing - I suffer from depression quite alot, due to my condition/disability that I was born with, and though I do try to lead a normal life it can be frustrating and difficult sometimes. I have got two of Susan's books, and when I feel "down" I just pick one of them up and go through it, and it gives me the motivation to carry on. I also enjoyed (and will still enjoy) her newsletters

I'm not sure even where to begin. You should see my book, Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway. Almost every line has been underlined, and the book is almost falling apart! One of my favorite books of all times. I haven't picked it up in awhile, BUT I think I will look for it today!
I also have the audio of this book, and would listen to it many times on my walks with my dogs. I absolutely love Susans voice!
I did this during an especially challenging transition of my life, and she got me thru it!
Was so sadden by the news of her passing. However I have a feeling she handled it with much grace and courage.
Believe with all my heart she is in a much better place and I hope when the day comes I will then be able to meet her!

RIP Susan Jeffers

I am so sad and shocked by the news, I feel like I have lost a very dear friend. Susan's book helped enrich my life, her book "Feel the fear and do it anyway is the one!!

The title alone is bold and brave, and the contents is pure goldust, and I have used and treasured this book for many many years, It helped me stand up, and to become the very best I can be.

I am at work with tears flowing as I type this message, but am so moved I had to send this now.

The universe always sends the teacher Susan Jeffers when the pupil is ready... ME.

I have written a tribute to Susan but it includes my fondest condoleances to her wonderful husband Mark and her children at the loss of a truly exceptional human being. My life is the richer for having "met" Susan in her books so theirs can but be a thousand times richer. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her role in my life.

Susan Jeffers has contributed considerably to my “spiritual path of healing” in different ways, at different periods.

I first came across her in the context of fear – of facing up to a strong - and beloved mother - so I could become my own self : I felt the fear and did it anyway.

Then, I came across Dare to Connect and Opening our Hearts to Men. Wonderful books! They helped me to realise that men were human beings like women, with qualities, defects and their own insecurities and complexes. Those books and the affirmations contained in them pushed me further on my understanding of myself and life, off-loading negative attitudes.

Lastly, she helped me when I found myself at the bottom of an emotional hole into which I had tumbled. I was 53 and had returned to Paris with a broken heart. I had no job (= no income) and no home (difficult to rent with no income). I just HAD to get a job and get myself back on my feet ... not too easy in Paris. I read Embracing Uncertainty and Life is huge! in an attempt to understand what was going on and get beyond it. And then, back in London for a weekend, I picked up the Little Book of Confidence and there on page 42 at the end of some sound advice were a few words, a fragment of a sentence: “realising you will always get to the other side”. That little fragment acted as my lifejacket ... I clung to it as if it were a lifeline. It just kept me going. And eventually, I began to crawl out of my hole.

Some time later, in a temporary job (but still in precarious living conditions), I was looking at Susan’s website and saw that I could submit a Feel the Fear story. I decided that when I really got back on my feet, I would indeed submit my story. Some years went by, but at last I did! I HAD got to “the other side”!

I recommend Susan to many people and I always will. She was a wonderful woman who has made and will continue to make a huge contribution to the lives of 1,000s of people in a wonderfully non-critical, humorous way. She lives on in her books and in our hearts.

I read the book as if you just wrote it and was sad to find out that you have moved on from this life on earth. Just wanted to say thank you. First, I want to extend my sincere condolences to the entire Jeffers family. I read the book FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAYS when it first came out many years ago. This book helped me get through a bad divorce, enter new relationships, leave a dead end job, start my own business, and I have reread it many times and each time get something new from it. I also have given this book to friends as a gift, and they in turn have reaped many blessings in return.
I only wish that I could have told Susan how much her work has enriched my life and I will always be thankful.

Susan's book 'Feel the fear and do it anyway' helped me to move on with my life, when things had become confusing. The book, and looking at the daily affirmation and quotation on the website, have helped me to emerge from troubled times and have increased my confidence in my ability to "handle" everything that comes my way. The book is now helping my sister to do these things too. And it is with great sadness that I find out (after a break where I have not needed to read the affirmation each day) that Susan has passed away. She has been inspirational and I hope that in time her family will be able to replace their sadness with the inspiration that she would want them all to feel. Thank you Susan.

I was so sad when I read the news of Susan's death. I read the book about 10 years ago after the death of my youngest daughter. She taught me a few new concepts in my thinking - which were: "I'll handle it" and "there's no such thing as a wrong decision"
I tell people these wise sayings and recommend that they buy her book. Rest in Peace , and thank you for helping me. Claire

Susan, greatly inspired me and helped me rediscover myself through her book "Feel the Fear and do it anyway" and then later on when I was very sick "Embracing Uncertainty" supported me in the finding of deep peace and surrendering to what was meant to be.She beautifully put words to feelings and emotions which could often have remained "unexpressed"and in doing so helping human consciousness take a big step forward.
I later met her and her husband in Dublin, when I was hoping to get involved in the translations of her works.A small physical build and yet "gigantic" spirit.
She will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

Susan's books have touched my heart in many ways but especially her meditation tape and her affirmations. They helped me believe that I can learn from missteps and manage the un-expected. She helped me to set sail again and for that I will always be grateful.

Dear Susan,
I am listening to you read your Feel the fear and do it anyway-I am contemplating the fact that I have to do something awful...and then your words come up- "I'll handle it"....
I am gutted to read that you have passed away- You have literally helped millions of people manage-and for that-millions of people-are grateful.
You -and you alone are the reason so many people have faced their fears...and done it anyway...on behalf of each one of those people- I thank you-
RIP DEAR SUSAN- my deepest sympathies are with your family and friends-

I was 19 years old in 1987 when this book arrived in my life. It lead to me leaving my small home town to go on a journey that took me far beyond my wildest dreams.

I felt the fear and did it anyway!

Thank you Susan Jeffers you really changed my life.

Rest In Peace

Hearing this news today was devastating for me, but on the other hand it is a proof that Susan's work on this plane of existence is over, although through great pain. I first came across "Feel the fear" in 1990 in the US at 25 years of age, got the book but never made it to the end, let alone tackle with it (it was probably "too much"). 21 years - and many more problems - later I finally took the bull by the horns and did an extraordinary work with a certified SJ life coach in my country, and it turned my life around, as I knew it would. I keep on reading it, putting it into practice and advising friends to read it. Her work was invaluable for me, her sense of humour, compassion and common sense allowed her to help and sort out thousands of people. She cannot be enough thanked, for she is the mother, the sister, the friend I would have liked to meet in this life. Bless you, Susan, and may you walk into the Light without any hindrance and free of your mortal coil. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Susan. Her books and tapes have help me so much over the years, and I am sure that without them I wouldn't be here today. Although she is no longer with us I am sure her spirit will carry on through her teachings. To continue helping others in need is a most wonderful legacy.

Susan's book, Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway was a blessing to me in my career choices. Whenever I faltered in the face of a promotion her words came back to me and I could press forward. Her passing saddens me greatly. Condolences to her family. Linda Fashanu-Lewis, M.Ed., LMSW

I read her newsletter regularly. The inspiration i get from those are voluminous and she's a prolific writer. One fine day I felt that i should contact her through mail or in person and get a kind of personal touch. But a very few days after this thought I read about the very sad news of Susan's demise.'life is what happens when you are busy making plans'..
But whatever happens,I'm sure Susan's words will help her readers to do it anyway and dance with life.
My heartfelt condolences to her grieving family.

I was stunned to learn of Susan's death when I read The New York Times obituary last evening. Susan was a shining light and a positive force in my life. I have wonderful memories of the time we spent when she appeared on TV shows I was associated with, as well as that nice visit to her former home in Santa Fe. Mark, my condolences go out to you and the family. Susan has left an extremely positive philosophy and legacy that will never be forgotten.

Susan Jeffers was in inspiration and a friend. Her books were introduced to me only a few months ago, and her words have had a profound effect on my life, on my heart and on my soul, in a very short time. I am saddened by her passing but know she passed on in peace and without fear. Her beautiful influence will shine forever. Thank you for continuing this website. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She is a gift to this world.

I have read many of Susan's books and have some tapes I use every day. What a loss for us who have been changed. I pass these along as well. My grandson has the children's "I can handle it" from me. She will be truly missed. I had no idea she had this cross to bear. Condolences to her family. God Bless

I was so saddened to hear of Susan's passing. She was/is an inspiration to me and has helped me in so many ways. I was first introduced to Susan with her book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. I was saying to a friend "if I could only get over my fears" and she said "you don't have to" and gave me Susan's book. I especially liked the e-mail inspirations that she would send. I am so glad you will continue them. It just seemed whenever I would be down or feel weak, one would come in and save the day. Thank you so much for carrying on Susan's message, she will truly be missed!!!!
